Mitzi has been a birth doula in the Lansing area for 32 years. Although certified through the National Association of Childbirth Assistants in 1989, Mitzi attributes her success as a doula to the hundreds of births that she has attended.
From the many families that she has served, Mitzi has learned that when a woman is nurtured physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and is treated as a valuable source of information about her own body, the clinical outcome of birth changes. When women feel empowered by their births, it greatly affects their confidence and thus how they interact with their newborns.
Mitzi is a member of The American Pregnancy Association, Birth Network, and Lansing Doula Network. She supports La Lache League, Michigan Midwives Association and volunteers at Willow Tree Family Center as a facilitator of a support group for new parents and their infants.
Mitzi welcomes anyone with interest or questions to contact her for a free consultation.
