Hello! LATRISHA, YOUR DOULA!
LaTrishas journey into birth work began after facing challenges with a blood clotting disorder, preeclampsia, tachycardia, and experiencing first-hand the gaps in our black maternal health care system, while advocating for herself and her baby during labor.
She is a DONA International certified doula. Her holistic, calming and client-centered approach enables her to provide nurturing and evidence-based care during preconception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum journeys.
Along with being a certified doula, she is a Certified Lactation Specialist, CPR Certified (adult/child/infant), Basic First Aid Certified and a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker and assists clients in need with linkage to care, community resources, food pantry, diapers, and lactation supplies.
Her goal is to ensure birthing people are being heard throughout their entire birth experience and have equitable health outcomes. It is essential for birthing people and their families to be informed while feeling empowered and supported every step of the way.
When not educating and advocating for birthing people, she enjoys spending time taking walks with her family, trying out new recipes, and finding interesting restaurants to visit while traveling.
