Michelle Haskell

Co-Owner of MI Village Birth and Family Support

Michelle has been fascinated by birth since she was a child. She has two children of her own with very different birth stories, both of which contributed in her push into birth work. The beautiful, respectful birth environment of her second child is what made her really jump into birth work, desiring to help others obtain that same level of care.

Michelle very strongly believes that all families who want a doula should have access to one, and offers a variety of packages and payment options to work with families on any budget. She always strives to help empower her clients in making sure they have the resources and support needed to make informed decisions that work best for their family and have the best experience possible.

Michelle is trained for both birth and postpartum doula support by DONA, International. She is also a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. She provides in-person and virtual antenatal, birth, and postpartum doula support, as well as comprehensive childbirth education. She has experience attending a variety of birth experiences. She is also well-versed in helping families navigate the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Michelle loves going on adventures with her husband, two children, and dog. She feels most at home kayaking or exploring in the woods. She also loves teaching dance to kids and adults. In her other life, Michelle supervises community outreach for a refugee foster care program, designed to serve youth who have fled their home countries in search of safety and have lost their families along the way.
